Karting success

Competed in a 90 min kart enduro at VIR yesterday with teammate JB. We not only won, but came in 2 laps ahead of second place. Consistency and smart pit strategy was the name of the game.

Chatterbox Adapter Cables

Well, these Chatterbox adapter cables seem to be a lot more popular than I originally anticipated. I'm now on my third build round and every day more and more racers seem to want them.

Anyway, if folks are interested, I'll keep building them.

Chatterbox to helmet race radio kit adapter cables

Awhile back I figured out the pin-outs to connect my built-in helmet race radio kit to my Chatterbox. It seems like folks want this cable, so as a favor to fellow racers and a little teaching moment for my kids to learn some business basics, I'll make them as folks want them.

Anyway, if folks want either an IMSA or NASCAR style female jack to Chatterbox 6-pin DIN cable, I have them for $45 shipped.

BMW Tarheel HPDE

I'm looking forward to getting back out on track, instructing with the Tarheel BMW Chapter on VIR's full course next weekend.

The weather forecast is calling for rain and I'd actually look forward to getting some more wet practice under my belt.

UTCC - fun, but dissappointing

58 cars ran in the Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge yesterday. Overall, I came in 20th overall with a very dissappointing and well off-pace for me, 2:09.9 :(

Granted, running on 25+ heat cycled tires didn't help, but I need to look at the data to see what's up.

A Riley MX "track day" car won the event with a 1:44 - unbelievability quick and impressive to watch blow past me.

Up next is the BMW Tarheel chapter HPDE in mid September.
